About MedLens

Peer-reviewed first. Always.

MedLens is an independent publication about AI in healthcare. Our only loyalty is to the evidence: what peer-reviewed studies show, what regulators authorize, and what we still don't know.

Why we exist

AI health tools are marketed faster than they are studied. Symptom checkers, screening software and chatbots all promise more than most of them can deliver — and for health topics, hype has real costs. We exist to translate the actual evidence into plain English, and to say plainly where the evidence ends.

Health information is different from other content: getting it wrong can hurt people. That is why every page on this site follows a stricter standard than usual — medical claims must come from peer-reviewed journals or official regulators, not from press releases or vendor marketing.

How we review

  • Peer-reviewed first. For any claim about accuracy or outcomes, we cite the underlying study — journal, year, and what it actually found, including its limitations.
  • Regulators second. Regulatory claims cite the FDA, WHO, NICE or equivalent official bodies, not summaries of them.
  • Medical review. Every guide is reviewed by a clinician before publication, against the primary literature.
  • Corrections. Errors are fixed, noted on the page, and can be reported by anyone at any time.
